Ningxin is from Nanjing, China, which is situated in the heartland of the lower Yangtze River region. During his undergraduate studies at Nanjing University, he worked with Prof. Lin Dong on the design of photocatalysts, such as carbon nitride, and applying them for the degradation of water pollutants and water splitting. Ningxin is currently working on the solid-state chemistry of f-elements.
