Abhijit grew up in a small village in West Bengal, India, where he completed his high school. Then he moved to Kolkata to complete his bachelors in Chemistry at RKMVC College. After finishing his Masters in chemistry from IIT Kharagpur, he moved to France to pursue his doctoral degree at University of Bordeaux where he worked on synthesis and characterization of molecule-based magnetic materials and designing high Tc molecule-based magnets based on transition metals. He is currently working on synthesis and characterization of solid state materials based on lanthanides. Abhijit likes travelling and exploring new places and playing cricket and badminton.
